Behaviour Support Staff
Behaviour Support specialists work closely with primary, secondary and Special Education Needs schools to bring about a positive change in behaviour for pupils experiencing difficulties.
Often Behaviour Support staff work closely with children who may need additional support with their emotional or social development. Working closely with the class teacher, Behaviour Support staff will support School Action Plans and aim to reduce the risk of exclusion for students.
Work typically includes:
1 to 1 support
Small group work
Raising social awareness
Mentoring, guiding and supporting
