A Tribute to Our Incredible Educators

As we approach the end of 2020, we’d like to pay tribute to the incredible work our teachers and support staff across the UK – and the world – have put into continuing to provide an education for our children in this unprecedented and challenging year.

The devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone, worldwide, in 2020. It has been a year like no other. As the country went into national lockdown in March, schools, nurseries and colleges were shut down in an attempt to halt the spread of the deadly virus. This unprecedented action lead to a series of challenges for education staff at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19.

SLT, teachers and support staff have been working under a huge amount of stress in 2020 to ensure that children have access to their education – be that via online learning at home or back in schools from September onwards. The incredible resilience shown by education staff in their adaptability to work in new ways throughout this tumultuous year has been nothing short of exceptional. From delivering lessons online to working in ‘bubbles’, teachers have coped with numerous changes to their roles, not to mention shouldering worries and anxieties for their pupils facing difficult circumstances at home as a result of the pandemic.

Throughout 2020, education staff have worked incredibly hard to provide our children with the safest, most enjoyable and most effective education possible in these exceptional and challenging circumstances. We owe them an immense debt of gratitude for their heroic efforts and wish them all a safe, peaceful and relaxing Christmas with their families. Christmas 2020 will be different for all of us, but it’s vital that we take a break, look after ourselves and each other and focus on our hopes for a brighter 2021.

We look forward to continuing to support schools and teachers when they return to the classroom in the New Year.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
