Behaviour Support Assistant Required for Oldham Primary School, OL9 – September Start

Experience of working with challenging behaviours is highly desirable.

A full time Behaviour Support Assistant opportunity has become available in a larger than average primary school in the Chadderton, Oldham, OL9. The school is looking to recruit a learning support assistant with extensive experience supporting pupils with barriers to learning, who display challenging behaviour. Whilst supporting children on a 1:1 or small group basis, as a learning support assistant, you would be expected to show a calm, caring and nurturing approach as building positive relationships is key to improving behaviour within school.

The school is located in the Chadderton area of Oldham and enrols over 500 pupils each year from the surrounding areas of Oldham. Due to an increase in the number of exclusions this academic year, the special needs co-ordinator wants to interview and recruit a behaviour support assistant straight away on a full time and long term basis. If you are a graduate of Psychology or have experience of working with children with challenging behaviours through social work or care work, you would be welcomed to apply for the role.

To be considered for this learning support assistant role, you will need to have a teaching assistant qualification or a degree and significant experience working with children. This is a full time post starting straight away if possible and you will need to have suitable experience and references to be considered.
