Supply Desk are recruiting! A full time Behaviour Support Assistant Opportunity has become available in a large 3 form entry primary school in Salford, M7. The school has been graded as ‘Good’ according to OFSTED. The school are looking to recruit a Behaviour Support Assistant with previous experience supporting pupils with barriers to learning, who display challenging behaviour. Whilst supporting children on a 1:1 or small group basis, as a learning support assistant, you would be expected to show a calm, caring and nurturing approach as building positive relationships is key to improving behaviour within school. To be considered for this learning support assistant role, you will need to have a teaching assistant qualification or a degree and significant experience working with children.

Job Description for Behaviour Support Assistant

  • Working 1:1 with a pupil with SEMH and  challenging behaviour
  • Supporting  the child with personal and emotional needs
  • Helping the child to engage socially with pupils and other staff
  • Encouraging the pupil to complete tasks and work set
  • Working with outside professionals and communicating  with carers
  • Full time, temporary position for as long as the child remains at the school
  • Salford, M7

Individual Profile for Behaviour Support Assistant

  • Understanding and nurturing
  • Great behaviour management, consistency and patience required
  • Experience working in a school setting  & alongside other professionals desirable
  • Team work and excellent communications skills essential
  • Available for immediate start

You will need a DBS on the update system or be willing to apply for a new one
