Chemistry Teacher / NQT – September 2021

Supply Desk Cardiff is seeking a teacher of Chemistry to work five days a week in a committed and successful Torfaen comprehensive school, starting in September 2021. The role will be ongoing and, for the right candidate, the position could become permanent. The role will require you to teach Chemistry across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
The school aims to offer the opportunities and security children need to achieve their best. Teachers lead by providing a mature example so that mutual respect and tolerance are the cornerstones of school life. Staff are dedicated to helping each child achieve his or her full potential and to this end many of the school’s GCSE outcomes are strong in terms of the Welsh Assembly’s new performance measures.
You should be fully confident to teach Chemistry up to KS4, with opportunities available to teach to KS5. You will also need to be able to plan and mark your own schemes of work, as well as assessing your students’ progress and providing intervention strategies, where appropriate. Applications are welcome from experienced secondary Chemistry teachers and NQTs alike.
What you’ll need to succeed
- QTS
- Experienced in teaching Chemistry to KS5
- Energetic and positive attitude
- EWC registration or willing to apply
- Current DBS registered on the update system or willing to apply
