About the role:
Supply Desk are working with an Academy School based in Crawley, that are seeking a full time Cover Supervisor starting ASAP on a full time contract / long term contract with the school looking to make the role permanent for the right person. The School provides training and opportunites for career progression and has a Teacher training programme for individuals aspiring to become a teacher in the future.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the classroom in the teachers absence and making sure that students complete the work that has been set by the teacher. You will need to have a degree or the equivalent to one and some experience working in Schools, ideally as a Cover Supervisor, but we will also consider applicants that have experience working as Learning Support Assistant and Teaching Assistants and graduates that have an interest in a career in teaching. The school will provide training and offers opportunities for career progression. The role is suitable for anyone seeking a career in teaching.
We are currently looking for Cover Supervisors who:
- Are outstanding classroom professionals
- Have a clear knowledge and understanding of the Secondary curriculum
- Confident covering an array of subjects with a subject specialism being a bonus
- Are committed, professional and are a good communicators with excellent interpersonal skills
- Happy to support more challenging schools where behaviour may be present in the classroom
- Have a DBS on the Update Service
The School has a teacher programme which could potentially start from September for the right person. To apply, you must have a degree and have a great interest in a potential career in education. The hours for this role are from 08:30 to 15:00. The school would be looking to make the position permanent for the right person.
Pay is discussed at interview but will range from £80 – £110 per day.
Candidates must have excellent behavioural management skills and feel confident in standing in front of a classroom and delivering a lesson to KS3 & KS4 Students for a range of different subjects.
