The role of a SEN teaching assistant involves working with children with a variety of mixed abilities such as Global Delay. This role would require an adaptable committed enthusiastic teaching assistant with great communication skills to liaise with the teacher. . The children have high energy levels so the right candidate would be expected to keep up with this. You will also be expected to ensure that the child is making sound academic and personal development and growth. These types of roles offer a unique opportunity to make a real difference to a child’s educational path through offering them 1:1 support to help them overcome any barriers that they may be facing to learning.
The Ideal candidate should have previous experience working with children with SEN and will also require previous experience of working in an Early Years setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for teaching and working with children. Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with staff and students. The Ability to understand the issues of safeguarding and confidentiality. The ability to work on initiative and proactively.
