Supply Desk are currently working closely with a large, 3 form entry primary school in the East Manchester area. This “Good” school that serves the local community are looking to add an Early Years SEN teaching assistant to their Early Years Department. As an Early Years SEN teaching assistant, you would be expected to support a child on a 1:1 basis who struggles with Cerebral Palsy and communication needs.
The focus for the school at this current moment is to help support new children from various international backgrounds to settle into their Early Years department and as such, the role comes with certain unique challenges. As an Early Years SEN teaching assistant, you would be working with children whose’ first language is not English (EAL) and children with “Looked After” (LAC) backgrounds. Of course, in this case, the main role for the SEN teaching assistant would be to support a child with all of their physical and communication needs.

- Or Early Years experience within a primary school or private day nursery
- Experience supporting SEN children within a primary school or private day nursery

- Strategies and tactics to aid communication – PECS and visual aids
