EBD Teaching Assistant

Supply Desk are working closely with a primary school in South Manchester who are looking for Teaching Assistant to join the team. The school has an excellent reputation within the local authority and high expectations of both its staff and pupils. This role will give any aspiring teacher a huge advantage to work within a really supportive school where you will work closely with excellent teachers and leadership team. You must be confident to work with challenging behaviour.

About the role:

  • Supporting pupils with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
  • Working as part of an established SEN department as Teaching Assistant
  • Supporting pupils with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
  • Managing challenging behaviour
  • Assisting in development of pupils
  • Encouraging and engaging pupils with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
  • Working closely with a teacher to develop pupils to their fullest potential
  • Working on 1:1 basis as well as across the classroom 
  • Working closely with SENCO

About the right candidate:

  • Previous experience with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
  • Previous classroom experience as teaching assistant preferable but not essential
  • Exceptional social and communication skills
  • Knowledge of the curriculum
  • Display enthusiasm, be proactive, have lots of initiative and able to prioritise support
  • Have a real focus in classes to break down expectations and encourage learning
  • Willing to travel to South Manchester due to location of the school
