Humanities Teacher – Milton Keynes – Immediate Start – MPS/UPS
Here at Supply Desk, we are looking for a passionate and driven Humanities Teacher (RE, Geography, & History) to join a dynamic secondary school in the Milton Keynes area.
The Role:

Inspire Learning: A resourceful individual who can engage and motivate pupils to achieve their full potential in humanities subjects.

Key Stage Teaching: Teach a full-time timetable of humanities subjects across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a focus on your specialist area (RE, Geography, or History) at KS5.

Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and assess lessons in alignment with the National Curriculum for humanities. This includes developing students’ critical thinking, analytical skills, and understanding of the world around them.

Behaviour Management: Uphold the school’s behaviour policy to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Professional Development: Opportunities for career progression and leadership roles for the right candidate.
Requirements for the Role:

Qualifications: Hold QTS/PGCE or equivalent teaching qualifications.

Curriculum Expertise: Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum for humanities subjects, including:

History: Covering topics such as Medieval Britain, the Industrial Revolution, World Wars, and Post-War Britain.

Geography: Teaching physical geography (e.g., tectonics, rivers) and human geography (e.g., urbanisation, global development).

Religious Education (RE): Exploring a range of religions, ethical issues, and philosophical questions, in line with local SACRE guidelines.

DBS: Current valid DBS or willingness to obtain one.

References: Able to provide two years’ worth of employment references.

Teaching Experience: Previous experience teaching in a secondary school environment.

Attitude: Positive and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning.
