Humanities Teacher in Secondary School based in Basingstoke
Starting in the new academic year – long term contract
Pay – £130 – £230
Location –Basingstoke
Hours – 8:00am – 4:00pm Temporary full-time
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join our team at Supply Desk. The school is a mixed secondary school catering to students aged 11-16, based in the Basingstoke area.
Job Role:
As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive history lessons that cater to various learning styles and abilities. You will create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to participate and explore historical concepts, events, and themes. Your role will involve:
– Designing captivating lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum and meet educational standards
– Utilising creative teaching techniques and resources to enrich the learning experience
– Monitoring and evaluating student progress through assessments, assignments, and class discussions
– Providing constructive feedback and support to foster students’ academic development
– Working with colleagues to create interdisciplinary strategies and collaborative projects
– Attending faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and participating in school activities
– Maintaining detailed records of student performance and accomplishments
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in History or related field
– QTS
– Demonstrated experience in teaching Humanities at KS3/KS4 level
– Strong knowledge of historical events, theories, and methodologies
– Proficiency in creating and implementing effective lesson plans
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students from diverse backgrounds
– Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment
