Nursery Assistant

Supply Desk currently have vacancy for a Nursery assistant with a Nursery School in Chichester the position is full time to start as soon as possible.

Your role as a Nursery Assistant in a Chichester based Nursery school, we have an exciting opportunity for a friendly and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join the team at this nursery school, working across both sides of the Nursery with our 6 month old baby’s right through to our 3-4 year olds. The role will be to provide cover for staff absence, holiday and other Nursery events. The successful applicant will be a strong Early Years practitioner, with a good understanding of how children learn in a free-flow environment, and have a sound knowledge of how to support and extend children’s learning “in the moment”. Applicants should be qualified to Level 3 in an Early Years and Childcare related qualification and have experience in a childcare setting. 

What you’ll need to succeed

–          Experience as a Nursery assistant or support staff within in a primary school or similar setting.

–          Energetic and positive attitude

–          Current DBS registered on the update service or willing to apply

–          You will need to be friendly, patient and organised.

Key functions of the role:

–          To facilitate, support and monitor the overall progress and development of all students according to their educational needs.

–          To foster a learning environment which provides pupils with the opportunity to fulfil their individual potential

–          To cooperate and liaise with other professionals, including colleagues and external agencies

–          To support expectations in terms of behaviour and maintain a good standard of discipline through well focused support methods and implementing the school behaviour policy
