Nursery Nurse
Supply Desk currently have vacancy for a Nursery Nurse with a Nursery School in Chichester the position is full time to start as soon as possible with a view to becoming potentially permanent.
Key functions of the role:
To work as an effective member of an early years team contributing to the education and care of children.
Main Tasks:
- To plan and implement a curriculum programme, meeting the needs of individual children, supporting and enabling their learning.
- To observe, record, assess and report individual children’s progress in accordance with policy and procedures.
- To be involved in the delivery of an effective early years’ service, participating in relevant teams as necessary.
- Keep abreast of early years local and national developments.
- To support children’s wellbeing, meeting the needs of the individual child in accordance with our duty of care.
Responsibilities:
- To teach pupils according to their educational needs, including setting, marking and assessment of work
- Identify clear teaching objectives and content, appropriate to the subject and pupils being taught and specify how they will be taught and assessed
- Setting high expectations of pupils’ learning, motivation and presentation of work
- Setting clear targets for pupils’ learning with which they agree and understand
- To direct and supervise Teaching Assistants within the classroom
- To cooperate and liaise with other professionals, including colleagues and external agencies
- To set high expectations in terms of behaviour and maintain a good standard of discipline through well focused teaching methods and implementing the school behaviour policy
Job Specification
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:
- Hold GCSE qualifications A-C in English and Maths
- Be qualified to at least Level 3 in early years and childcare
- Have at least three years’ experience working as in a childcare environment
- Have a secure knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and be confident in its implementation
