Science Teacher required in Worthing ASAP
Full Time – September Start
Supply Desk are recruiting for a Science Teacher for a medium sized school near Worthing. The role is full time to start immediatley teaching across years 7 – 11.
The Science Department has enjoyed GCSE outcomes well above National average over the last two years in both the combined and separate science pathways. When Ofsted visited in May 2019 and judged the school to be Good, here is what the inspectors said about science: ‘Typically, in mathematics and science, pupils are confident learners and they are able to ask reflective questions that lead to interesting mathematical and scientific discussions’. ‘In English, science and history, teachers’ precise feedback, in accordance with the school’s policy, helps students to improve their work over time’. ‘Students are provided with challenging targets to ensure that their aspirations are high. For example, in science, lessons are planned well to engage students and ensure that they are challenged to achieve the highest grades. This was seen in Year 10 where students were challenged through working on electrolysis and were confident to explain their ideas’. ‘In science, students wrestle with harder concepts that deepen their understanding’.

- UK experience and/or experience in long-term positions with similar age groups
- QTS/QTLS or relevant teaching degree
- Passion for Teaching and Learning
- Able to provide two years’ worth of employment references
