SEMH Learning Support Assistants required
Sussex and Surrey
Full time, long term
£65 – £85 per day
We are currently working with a number of SEMH schools across Sussex and Surrey who are looking for experienced Learning Support Assistants to work with students with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties.
The ideal candidate will have experience in dealing with challenging behaviour and perhaps have worked in a school environment or as a youth worker. We are also open to receiving applications for anyone with a relevant transferable skillset who is passionate about working with young people with SEMH. Psychology or Sports graduates often thrive in this environment.
The role will be full time until the end of the Academic year (Summer 2022).
Key skills and experience needed:
• University degree, A Level qualification, or relevant skills/qualifications.
• Experience working with students with SEMH and challenging behaviour- preferably in an education setting OR have an understanding of mental health
• Strong Behaviour management techniques.
• Previous support work within a school OR other child related experience.
• Professional manor.
• Enthusiasm and friendly approach.
• Experience or knowledge within special educational needs.
