SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant – Burgess Hill

Start Date: May 2022

Contract: Long Term, Full Time

Location: Burgess Hill, West Sussex

Pay: £320.60 -£394.80 per week

Supply Desk are working in partnership with a special educational needs academy in West Sussex. The school are looking for somebody who is passionate about seeing the students develop and wants to make a positive impact on their lives. They cater for mixed pupils aged 4-16 years old with a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

The Role:

ü  Working 1:1 or with small groups to support learning within the classroom.

ü  Supporting children with a range of complex needs including SEMH.

ü  Assisting the class teacher in behavior management.

ü  Ensuring that all pupils are on task with the work and provide feedback on progress to Teachers and SENCO.

You Will Need:

ü  To be passionate about supporting children in an SEN environment.

ü  Patient and flexible with excellent written and oral communication skills.

ü  A current DBS check on the update service or be willing to apply for one 

ü  Training or experience in Makaton, PECS or Team Teach (Highly desirable though not essential).
