SEN teaching assistant required for September

Supply Desk are currently working recruiting a SEN teaching assistant to work with a child with autism and challenging behaviour in a primary school in Prestwich, Manchester. This is a ‘good’ school with a fantastic working and learning environment, it is a caring school with the highest standards of education for children of all abilities and central to the life of the immediate community.

As an SEN teaching assistant you would be required work with an autistic child on a 1:1 basis, working closely with the child to provide additional support and learning such as assisting them in lessons and taking them out of lessons regularly to provide extra support. The role requires a SEN TA who is comfortable with challenging behaviours and is able to engage well with children with little speaking ability and Autism. This can be a challenging but very rewarding role and requires skills of nurturing, patience and consistency.  The ideal candidate must have experience working with children with autism or similar learning difficulties and be capable of building honest and trustworthy relationships with children.
