SEN Teaching Assistant
Supply Desk are working with a primary school in Chepstow to recruit a long-term SEN teaching assistant to work in the school’s Additional Learning Centre. The Additional Learning Centre has a dedicated team of staff who are working hard to develop the centre and help the children reach their full potential. They support individuals aged 4-11 years with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD). The Centre has high levels of staffing and specialist resources. You would need to have experience with pupils with additional learning needs, and also will be expected to provide intimate care on a daily basis. This could include personal hygiene and PEG feeding. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with children with Additional Learning Needs, and make a positive impact on their education and development. An immediate start is available.
What you’ll need to succeed
- School based experience working with children with Additional Learning Needs
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- EWC registration or willing to apply
- Current DBS registered on the update system or willing to apply
