Teaching Assistant – (PMLD)

Location: Aylesbury
Contract: Full-time or part-time
Start Date: January 2025

The school is seeking a passionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to join their team and support students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to create and deliver engaging activities tailored to students’ needs.
  • Develop a holistic approach to supporting students with profound learning difficulties by implementing action plans and strategies to ensure progress.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Behaviour Plans, Risk Assessments, Personal Care, and Therapy Care programs.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, families, and external agencies to provide comprehensive student support.
  • Build therapeutic relationships with students, engaging with them based on their unique needs and abilities.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEN, particularly PMLD, or a genuine desire to work in this field.
  • Skills: Knowledge of SEN and strategies to support learning, with the ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Commitment: Availability to work fixed days on a full-time or part-time basis.
  • Compliance: A clear and valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Training: Relevant qualifications or training to support students with learning difficulties.
