Are you a SEND experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity? A primary school in Gosport are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work alongside a child with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. You will be working alongside experienced teachers who will be supporting you with your job.
Your new role
A 1:1 Teaching Assistant job is available for a TA with experience working with SEMH. You will be required to follow behavioural and educational plans, rewarding and identifying good behaviour. The class teacher will support you with this and create the plans for you to follow. You will need to motivate the child to keep them engaged, using their interests as educational tools. You will be required to take interactive intervention sessions for the rest of the class, supporting and implementing the National Curriculum within English and Maths. You may also be required to accompany the class on school trips.
What you’ll need to succeed
- You will have school based experience in a Teaching Assistant job that can be applied to a SEND role
- You must be passionate and confident about supporting children
- A desire to impact on learning and development to ensure the student achieves.
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent desired
- A creative and practical approach
