Teaching Assistant/General Support – Cardiff

This Teaching Assistant role located in the Cardiff area is perfect for anyone wanting to work flexibly and gain experience working with children.

Do you have an interest in teaching? We can offer roles that cover classrooms or small groups. Do you have an interest in working with special educational needs to gain experience for future career aspirations? We can find one-one roles working with children who require additional support.

No experience or specific qualifications required.

Duties vary but can include:

  • General support with teacher duties
  • Helping with pupils learning and development, e.g. assisting those who are struggling, listening to pupils read, helping with number work etc.
  • Supervising pupils in the playground, dining hall, cloakrooms and in class
  • Keeping records of each pupil’s progress
  • Assisting with their health and hygiene
  • Helping students develop life skills and mentoring them to have a positive outlook
  • Working 1-1 with students, in small groups or helping with a class collectively

The Successful candidate will:

  • A positive and engaging attitude to education
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy skills
  • 6 weeks experience of working with children (Desirable but not essential)
  • An enhanced DBS check with registration via the update service (This can be completed with us at Supply desk, if not already in receipt)
  • EWC registration/willing to apply for EWC registration
  • An enthusiastic attitude toward teaching and making a difference to young minds
  • The ability to travel to a school in Cardiff either by public transport or personal car/bicycle
