Specialist Teaching Assistants needed to support reading in Primary School children

‘Love 2 Read’ is a specialist reading intervention specifically designed to improve the reading abilities of both primary and secondary pupils with the support of a specialist 1:1 tutor. The ‘Love 2 Read’ programme is designed so that each child reads alongside the tutor for 20 minutes per week, for 10 weeks. The guided reading sessions in ‘Love 2 Read’ are specifically designed to gradually encourage the child to begin to feel more confident with independent reading and aid their comprehension of the literature.
The role itself allows learners to develop their skills and discover a passion for reading and learning. This role is ideal for someone who is looking for school and education based work to supplement their time and experience whilst at University.
v Reading specialists and enthusiasts
v Working with primary pupils with lower reading ability
v Improving reading confidence, comprehension and independence
v Working with around 20 low ability pupils, for 20 minutes a week for 10 weeks
v All training provided
v Competitive daily pay rate
What we are looking for:
v Keen reader and literacy enthusiast
v Looking to work in a rewarding role helping low ability children with their reading
v Patient and nurturing in your approach
v Understandable and consistent in your approach
v Experience working in a school or educational setting preferred but not essential
