Pay Rate: £85 – £105 per day, depending on experience
About the Role
Supply Desk is looking for a calm, confident and adaptable Individual Needs Assistant (INA) to support a Year 4 pupil in a primary school in Uckfield.
The pupil has PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) and ADHD, and the role will involve providing consistent 1:1 support to help them manage their emotions, access learning and successfully navigate the school day.
This is a role for someone who is confident managing challenging behaviour and understands the importance of building trust, maintaining clear boundaries and using a calm, consistent approach.
Key Responsibilities

Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil

Support the pupil with their learning, engagement and daily routines

Use calm, consistent and positive behaviour strategies

Help the pupil develop emotional regulation and coping strategies

Adapt your approach according to the pupil’s individual needs

Build a trusting and positive professional relationship

Work closely with the class teacher and wider school team

Support the pupil to develop independence and confidence

Promote a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment

Respond appropriately and professionally to challenging situations
The Ideal Candidate
-
Previous experience supporting children with ADHD, PDA, SEND or SEMH
-
Confident supporting challenging or complex behaviour
-
Calm, patient and emotionally resilient
-
Adaptable and able to think on your feet

Consistent and confident in maintaining boundaries

Able to build strong relationships with children

Positive and nurturing while remaining firm and professional
-
Experience working on a 1:1 basis would be advantageous
Male candidates are particularly encouraged to apply, as this may be a good fit for the pupil, although this is not an essential requirement.
