The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide tailored 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs. The school values patience, consistency and strong relationships, creating a positive environment where every child feels supported and included.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), both within the classroom and across the wider school environment.
  • Support the pupil with their learning, communication, social development and emotional well-being.
  • Adapt activities and learning resources to meet the pupil’s individual needs and abilities.
  • Encourage independence and help the pupil develop confidence in their learning and daily routines.
  • Provide consistent support with behaviour, helping the pupil to manage emotions and respond positively to challenges.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support strategies and contribute to the pupil’s development.

Candidate Profile

  • Confident supporting children with a range of learning, behavioural, social or communication needs.
  • Ability to remain calm, consistent and positive when managing challenging situations.
  • Good teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively alongside teachers and other support staff.
  • A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their potential.
  • Holds, or is willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check and can provide professional references.
