We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASC Learning Support Assistant to join one of our schools in the Aylesbury area. As an integral member of their inclusive learning environment, you will work closely with students who have Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), providing tailored support to help them achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ASC in both academic and non-academic settings
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued and understood
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders
- Promote independence and self-advocacy skills among students with ASC
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with ASC is highly desirable
- Knowledge of effective strategies for supporting individuals with ASC in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the diverse needs of students
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in education, special education, or related fields
