As a Secondary Chemistry Teacher, you will deliver structured lessons that help students understand key scientific principles and apply them confidently.

Key responsibilities
Teach Chemistry across KS3 and KS4
Explain topics such as reactions, bonding, and the periodic table
Deliver practical experiments safely
Prepare students for GCSE exams
Reinforce scientific terminology
Track progress and address misconceptions
Maintain structured lessons

The classroom environment
Lessons are clear and methodical
Students understand processes step-by-step
Behaviour is calm and controlled
Learning is consistent

Skills and experience
Strong Chemistry subject knowledge
Clear explanation skills
Organisation and planning
Confident classroom management

What success looks like
Students understand key processes
Practical work is completed safely

QTS is desirable; unqualified teachers are welcome to apply, particularly those with science or lab-based backgrounds
