Child Protection Worker
Pay – £160 to £180 per day (dependent on experience)
Location -Southampton
Hours – 8:00am to 3:30pm, Full Time

Family Support and Child Protection Lead – Junior School in Southampton
A large, thriving junior school in Southampton is seeking an experienced Family Support and Child Protection Lead to join their dedicated safeguarding team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate professional to make a significant difference to the lives of children and families by removing barriers to learning and promoting positive outcomes.
This role would particularly suit an experienced family support worker, safeguarding practitioner, youth worker, social care professional, or a qualified teacher looking to move into a non-classroom safeguarding and pastoral position.
Key responsibilities for this Family Support and Child Protection Lead role are:
- Acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Leading on day-to-day child protection and safeguarding matters.
- Working closely with Children’s Services and a range of external agencies.
- Coordinating support for vulnerable children and families.
- Delivering family support programmes, coffee mornings and parent workshops.
- Strengthening positive partnerships between home and school.
- Championing early intervention and preventative support strategies.
The minimum requirements for this role are:
- Experience working with vulnerable children, young people and families.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with families and professionals.
- Experience of working collaboratively with external agencies and multi-agency teams.
- A resilient, organised and proactive approach to supporting children and families.
- The right to work in the UK.
- Two years’ worth of references.
- A current DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
