English Teacher – Chichester
Start Date: September 26
Contract: Long-term until July 2025 (potential to become permanent)
Pay: £160 – £240 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm | Full-time

Position Overview:
Supply Desk is working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Chichester to recruit a dedicated and passionate English Teacher. This role begins September 2026 on a long-term basis until at Least July 27, with strong potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, joining a collaborative and supportive department. Applications are welcomed from Early Career Teachers (ECTs), experienced educators, and those with relevant teaching experience, even if unqualified.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to a variety of learning styles and abilities

Foster a love of reading, writing, and language among students

Mark and assess student work in line with departmental and national guidelines

Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment initiatives within the English department

Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and academic progress

Participate in the wider life of the school, including school events and extracurricular activities

Candidate Requirements:

A degree in English Literature, English Language, or a closely related subject (essential)

QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent recognised qualification (preferred)

Strong knowledge of the English curriculum at KS3 and KS4

Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for teaching English

Strong classroom management and communication skills

A commitment to inclusive education and continued professional development
