About the Role

Supply Desk is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring English Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Winchester from September 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring English lessons across KS3 and KS4.

  • Develop students’ confidence, literacy and analytical skills.

  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet a range of abilities.

  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.

  • Establish a positive and purposeful classroom environment.

  • Encourage a genuine enthusiasm for English and learning.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and English department.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Strong subject knowledge in English.

  • Experience teaching English at secondary level.

  • Passion for inspiring and motivating young people.

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and student achievement.

  • ECTs are encouraged to apply.

  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
