Law & Economics Teacher – Sixth Form College in Southampton

Start Date: September (Autumn Term)
Contract: Full-Time | Temporary until December
Working Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Pay: £165 – £260 per day (dependent on experience)

Position Overview

A well-established and highly regarded sixth form college in Southampton is seeking a dedicated Law & Economics Teacher for a full-time position starting in September and continuing until the end of the Autumn Term (December) with the potential to go permanent for the right person. 

This role involves teaching Law and Economics at A-Level, delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that encourage students to develop analytical thinking, independent learning skills, and a deeper understanding of legal and economic concepts. This is an excellent opportunity to teach motivated post-16 learners in a specialist sixth form setting.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Teaching Law and Economics at A-Level.
  • Delivering engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students to achieve their potential.
  • Supporting students with examination preparation and coursework where applicable.
  • Planning lessons that stretch and challenge learners in a post-16 environment.
  • Assessing, monitoring and tracking progress in line with departmental expectations.
  • Contributing to a positive and ambitious academic culture.

What We’re Looking For

  • A qualified teacher with UK QTS (or equivalent post-16 teaching experience).
  • Experience teaching Law and/or Economics at KS5/A-Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for post-16 education.
  • The ability to engage and motivate independent learners.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
