Job Role: Year 6 SEN 1:1 LSA
Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Daily Rate: £85.50 – £120
Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term (6 weeks – June to July 2026)
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Year 6 SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide 1:1 support for a child in care with SEMH needs and ASD in a welcoming primary school in Hemel Hempstead. This is a full-time, short-term role for 6 weeks from June to July 2026, offering an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in the pupil’s learning, wellbeing, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with SEMH needs and ASD
- Support learning activities in line with the teacher’s guidance
- Help manage behaviour in a positive, calm, and consistent manner
- Encourage social, emotional, and academic development
- Adapt support to meet the individual needs of the pupil
- Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to support progress
- Support the pupil in preparing for transition to secondary school
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children with SEMH and/or ASD (preferred but not essential)
- Experience supporting children in care is highly desirable
- A patient, caring, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
