Supply Desk is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated Maths Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Borehamwood from September.

Working as part of a collaborative and experienced Maths department, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons across the secondary Maths curriculum, assess and monitor student progress, and foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. The school is looking for a teacher who is committed to promoting students’ academic, social, and personal development while maintaining high expectations for every learner.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and well-structured Maths lessons in line with the secondary curriculum.
  • Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that supports every student’s learning and development.
  • Encourage students to develop strong mathematical understanding, problem-solving skills, and confidence.
  • Assess, monitor, and track student progress, using assessment effectively to inform future planning and teaching.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with students, parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Differentiate learning effectively to meet the individual needs and abilities of all students.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through enrichment activities, Maths clubs, trips, and school events.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Maths department and across the wider school to ensure the best possible outcomes for all students.
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and student wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching Maths within a UK secondary school setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Has a strong understanding of the secondary Maths curriculum and effective teaching practices.
  • Is passionate about Maths and inspiring students to develop a genuine interest in the subject.
  • Promotes inclusive teaching practices and supports the needs of every student.
  • Has a thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
