Job Role: SEN Teacher (SEMH Specialist Provision)

Salary: £168.80 – £270.98 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Contract Type: Full Time

Contract Duration: Long-term (with potential for permanent placement)
About the School
This specialist provision supports children and young people aged 11–16 with complex social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Many students have experienced disrupted education and benefit from a highly personalised, therapeutic approach to learning.
The school offers:

The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teacher to join the team from September. You will deliver English and Maths to small groups, supported by experienced Teaching Assistants, while playing a key role in students’ emotional and academic development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering differentiated English and Maths lessons tailored to individual needs
- Building positive, trusting relationships with students who may display challenging behaviours
- Supporting emotional regulation, engagement and resilience
- Creating a safe, consistent and therapeutic learning environment
- Working collaboratively with SEN, pastoral and therapy teams to meet EHCP targets
- Using a restorative and trauma-informed approach to behaviour management
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching experience in SEN settings
- Experience working with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour (desirable but not essential)
- A calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour support
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
- A compassionate, resilient and flexible mindset
