About the Role
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a motivated PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you’ll play a vital role in helping pupils with complex learning needs access education and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), enabling them to access learning and participate fully in school life.
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, inclusive, and personalised learning activities tailored to individual needs.
- Assist pupils with personal care, mobility, feeding, and medical needs where required, maintaining dignity and promoting independence at all times.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, sensory, and physical development through positive interactions and encouragement.
- Promote positive behaviour and help create a calm, safe, and stimulating learning environment.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Passionate about supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities.
- Caring, patient, and committed to helping every pupil achieve their full potential.
- Confident supporting pupils with personal care and moving and handling, or willing to undertake relevant training.
- A strong communicator who works well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Professional, reliable, adaptable, and able to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Dedicated to creating an inclusive learning environment where every pupil feels safe, valued, and supported.
