About the Role:

Supply Desk are currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Primary SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school in the Kings Langley area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping every pupil reach their full potential.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging, creative and personalised lessons, adapting teaching approaches to meet the individual needs of pupils. You will play an important role in supporting children’s academic progress, confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs and abilities of primary-aged pupils.
  • Support pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
  • Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported.
  • Set appropriate learning objectives and monitor pupil progress in line with EHCP targets and individual learning plans.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external professionals to provide consistent and effective support.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, independence and confidence.
  • Adapt teaching strategies, resources and activities to encourage engagement and maximise learning.
  • Support pupils in developing essential academic, social and life skills appropriate to their individual needs.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent).
  • Experience working with primary-aged children with SEN.
  • A strong understanding of EHCPs, individual learning needs and differentiated teaching approaches.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and behaviour management skills.
  • A calm, patient, compassionate and resilient approach.
  • The ability to build strong, positive relationships with children and create a stimulating learning environment.
  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
