Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet a range of special educational needs.
  • Support students with a variety of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies.
  • Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and emotional wellbeing.
  • Use a range of teaching approaches to engage students and support their individual learning styles.
  • Monitor, assess, and track student progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals to support student development.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support students in developing social and emotional skills.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on progress and wellbeing.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience working with SEN students is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of a range of special educational needs and effective support strategies.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and ongoing professional development.
  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check and professional references.
