Supply Desk are seeking SEND teaching assistants for a Primary school near Waterlooville with a dedicated specialist unit.

Starting from September 2026 on a long-term contract

Full time – 08:30 – 3:30

Up to £16 per hour depending upon experience

Job Description:

  • Experience of working with children with SEND, Speech, Language and communication needs, Autism, ADHD etc
  • Desire to work throughout Key stage 1
  • Working with small groups delivering interventions such as Reading, Maths, Literacy, life skills and social skills or 1:1 with specific pupils and supporting their needs
  • Full time role with the opportunity of a permanent contract
    • Location: Portsmouth  
    • Start Date: September 2026
    • Contract Length: Long Term – Potential to become permanent
    • Hours: Part time 32.5

Individual Profile:

  • A nurturing and caring nature
  • GCSE Maths and English to A- C grade
  • Experience of working with children/young people
  • Passionate, enthusiastic and proactive individual
  • Adaptable and sensitive when dealing with challenging situations
  • First Aid trained or be willing to be trained
