Position: Teaching Assistant to support those with Physical Disabilities
Location: Lymington 
Start Date: September 26
Contract Type: Full-Time – Temporary to Permanent
Pay Rate: £109 – £115 per day

About the Role

A specialist school that is supportive and inclusive in Lymingtonis looking for someone who has experience of working with those who have physical disabilities and may need support with feeding and personal care,

In this role, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to provide consistent, tailored support to pupils who needs specialist care in order to learn and succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support for those with additional needs such as physical disabilities
  • Support pupils in all aspects of the day including lunchtime and interactive times.
  • Assist with the delivery of personalised learning and interventions
  • Help create a safe, calm, and structured environment that promotes engagement and emotional regulation.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage confidence, resilience, and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Monitor behaviour and emotional development, contributing to progress tracking and reporting.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience working with children with physical disabilities  is highly desirable (school-based or alternative settings).
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
