Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

Full-time – Temporary to Permanent

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: £90 – £120 per day

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering customised lessons and adapting resources to meet individual pupil requirements.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Implement EHCP targets in close collaboration with the SENCO and teaching staff.
  • Provide personal care support to pupils when necessary.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour accurately and promptly.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience working with children with SEN is preferred but not essential.
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting pupils.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Holds, or is willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check and professional references.
