Experienced Year R teaching Assistant –Southampton Suburbs
Starting October on a temporary contract
Pay: £85 – £92 per day
Hours: 08:30 – 15:30
About the role:
A full-time an energetic individual is needed to support a brand new Year R class of children at a popular and well-respected Primary school in the Southampton Suburbs. The school has a community ethos and knows each child within its establishment on a personal level. The teaching assistant they recruit must have experience of supporting children that are starting their school journey and settling into new routines and learning.
- Pay: Daily Rate (£85-£92)
- Location: Southampton Suburbs
- Start Date: October 2026
- Hours: 08:30 – 3:30
Duties may include:
- Supporting on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
- Helping children adapt to a new environments
- Supporting with phonics, early writing, maths and other foundation academic skills
- Adapting resources to meet the needs of the children
- Ensuring small children feel valued, safe and respected
- Liasing with the teacher and SENCO to ensure teaching and learning is suitable
- Ensuring safeguarding proceedures are understood and followed
- Supporting with pupil regulation and emotional well-being
- Lunch time duties – supervising children eating and interacting with peers
