Teaching Assistant

Full‑Time Teaching Assistant for EYFS new starters  – Sputhampton Area

Pay: £85–£95 per day

Contract: Full‑time, starting September 2026

Hours: 8:30–3:30 (term time)

A welcoming and nurturing primary setting in the Southampton area is seeking a committed EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. The school encourages children to take pride in themselves and their community by promoting a holistic curriculum focused on social and emotional wellbeing as well as academic.

About the Role

  • Helping Year R children settle into new routines and school 
  • Providing 1:1 and small‑group support
  • Helping children regulate emotions and develop independence
  • Offering clear, consistent boundaries with a patient and empathetic approach
  • Adapting resources to meet individual learning needs

Duties Include

  • Supporting learning and development in class
  • Supervising pupils during transitions, playtimes and lunchtimes
  • Recording progress against learning targets
  • Encouraging positive social skills and resilience
  • Assisting with general classroom organisation
