About the Role
Are you a qualified and enthusiastic Primary Teacher passionate about inspiring and supporting pupils in their final year of primary school? We are seeking a dedicated, caring, and motivated Year 6 Primary Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school. The successful candidate will be committed to providing high-quality teaching and creating a positive learning environment where every pupil can achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils to develop their reading, writing, mathematics, and wider curriculum knowledge.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages pupils to learn and succeed.
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, promoting confidence, independence, resilience, and a love of learning.
- Monitor, assess, and record pupils’ progress and use assessment information to inform future planning.
- Provide targeted support and interventions for pupils who require additional help with their learning.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other members of staff to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.
- Promote positive behaviour through a consistent, fair, and nurturing approach.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, colleagues, and other professionals regarding pupils’ progress and development.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development, particularly as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.
- Participate in staff meetings, parents’ evenings, school events, and wider school activities where required.
- Follow school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, behaviour, and confidentiality.
- Take part in relevant training and professional development opportunities.

- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, patient, enthusiastic, and professional approach.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A commitment to inclusion and ensuring every pupil is supported to reach their full potential.
- A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
