Job Description:
We are seeking a confident and proactive Art Cover Supervisor to join a supportive secondary school in the Portsmouth area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for creativity and education who can confidently manage classrooms and maintain high behavioural standards across KS3 and KS4.
The successful candidate will supervise pre-planned Art lessons, ensure students remain engaged and on task, and create a calm and productive learning environment. Strong behaviour management is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-set Art lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Maintain strong classroom and behaviour management at all times
- Ensure students remain focused, engaged, and working productively
- Support students of varying abilities within the classroom
- Manage classroom routines effectively and confidently
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Uphold school policies and safeguarding procedures
Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a secondary school setting
- Strong behaviour management skills are essential
- Confident leading classes independently
- Passion for Art, creativity, and supporting young people
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Flexible, reliable, and professional approach
Desirable:
- Experience covering Art lessons or working within a creative subject area
- Previous Cover Supervisor or Teaching Assistant experience
- Degree or qualification related to Art or Education
