Pay: Daily Rate £85.50 – £120 (dependent on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking caring, patient and dedicated SEN Care Workers to join a supportive and inclusive setting in Borehamwood from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children and young people with special educational needs, supporting their daily care, learning and personal development.
The successful candidates will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential within a safe and nurturing environment.
About the Setting
• This welcoming and inclusive SEN provision supports children and young people with a range of additional needs.
• The setting focuses on promoting independence, communication, life skills and emotional wellbeing.
• Staff work collaboratively to ensure a safe, structured and supportive environment for all learners.
• The leadership team is supportive and committed to staff development and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
• Assist with personal care needs where required, including toileting, feeding and mobility support.
• Support pupils in accessing learning activities and school routines.
• Promote independence, confidence and social development.
• Implement behaviour support strategies in line with individual plans.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff.
• Ensure the safety, wellbeing and dignity of all pupils at all times.
Requirements
• Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• A caring, patient and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to support personal care tasks with sensitivity and professionalism.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Relevant support or care qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
