We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and highly skilled English Teacher to join our vibrant and thriving secondary school community in Rickmansworth. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and rigorous English lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Ensure students develop a strong command of language and critical thinking skills, alongside a love of literature
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting achievable targets for improvement
- Develop and implement strategies to support the diverse learning needs of all students
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance cross-curricular learning and promote holistic development
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities and school events
- Engage in ongoing professional development to continually improve teaching practice
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (e.g. PGCE, overseas teaching qualification)
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching English
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to inspire students
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful classroom environment
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- An understanding and respect for the values and ethos of a faith-based school
