About the Opportunity

Are you an enthusiastic Early Years Teacher looking for a part-time teaching opportunity from January?

Supply Desk is currently recruiting on behalf of a friendly primary school in the Horsham area, seeking an experienced and dedicated EYFS Teacher to join their team for the spring and summer terms.

This position offers a lovely opportunity to become part of a school community and play an important role in shaping children’s early educational experiences. You’ll be responsible for delivering engaging activities, encouraging curiosity and helping young learners build the foundations they need for their next stage of education.

The working pattern is Monday mornings, all day Tuesday and all day Wednesday. Wednesday afternoon will be dedicated to PPA, and the successful candidate will also be required to attend the after-school staff meeting.

Alongside classroom teaching, the role includes attending parents’ evening during the spring term and completing reports for half of the class during the summer term.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative and stimulating lessons that follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

  • Support children’s development across all areas of learning, including communication, language, literacy, mathematics and personal, social and emotional development.

  • Provide a safe, welcoming and engaging environment where children feel confident to explore and learn.

  • Track, assess and record children’s progress, identifying areas for further development.

  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.

  • Work collaboratively with the wider school team to support children’s individual needs.

  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and parents’ evening.

  • Complete summer term reports for an allocated half of the class.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Previous experience teaching within EYFS or Reception.

  • A sound understanding of the EYFS curriculum and early childhood development.

  • The ability to deliver creative, play-based and purposeful learning experiences.

  • A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Someone reliable who can commit to the full January–July placement and associated responsibilities.

Why Join Supply Desk?

  • Secure a consistent teaching placement across two terms.

  • Enjoy a part-time working pattern across three days.

  • Competitive rates of pay.

  • Dedicated support from your own education recruitment consultant.

  • The opportunity to build a strong relationship with a local school and make a lasting contribution to children’s development.
