A vibrant, high-achieving Se condaryschool in the Lymington area is seeking a qualified HLTA to take charge of a provision unit in Southampton. The school is ambitious, inclusive and has an excellent reputation for excellent results.
This long-term role begins in the new academic year and would be suited to someone experienced, able to be consistent in their approach, following school behaviour policies closely to support those with SEND needs feel secure and safe.
Applicants must hold an HLTA qualification, or an Education Degree.
Key responsibilities for this Higher-Level Teaching Assistant role are:
- To be able to adapt planning and resources to suit the needs of the group and individuals
- To be in charge of a small SEND provision and oversee a small team
- Have experience of working with a wide range of needs including: Trauma, Autism, ADHD, Attachment challenges etc
- Take part in collaborative planning and assessment
- Be confident to support individuals with additional needs
- Be an active member of the wider school community
The minimum requirements for this Teaching Assistant role are:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- 2 Years’ worth of references
- A current DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
- Have an HLTA qualification/a level 3 CACHE certification/ a degree in education
