Salary: £110 – £130 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: 08:30 – 15:30

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HLTA to join a well-regarded primary school in Southampton, covering teacher absence across KS1 and KS2. Planning will be provided, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality lessons and maintaining excellent behaviour standards. When not covering classes, you will deliver intervention sessions to support pupils preparing for SATs, phonics screening checks and multiplication tables assessments.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering pre-planned lessons across KS1 and KS2 during teacher absence.
- Maintaining a positive, engaging and productive learning environment.
- Leading targeted interventions to support pupils’ academic progress.
- Supporting children preparing for SATs, Phonics Screening Checks and Multiplication Tables Check assessments.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and school leaders to ensure continuity of learning.
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback where appropriate.
- Promoting positive behaviour and demonstrating excellent classroom management skills.
- Supporting pupils of varying abilities to achieve their full potential.

What We’re Looking For
- HLTA qualification or relevant Level 3 qualification.
- Experience leading whole classes within a primary setting.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Confidence working across both KS1 and KS2.
- Experience delivering intervention programmes and supporting attainment.
- A proactive, adaptable and positive approach.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
