A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Buckingham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to join their team from September 2026. Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Development and Planning
Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum.
Develop inclusive lesson plans that cater to a range of abilities and learning styles.
Create a stimulating classroom environment that supports early learning and development.

Classroom Teaching
Deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stage 1.
Support pupils in developing core skills in phonics, reading, writing, and mathematics.
Foster curiosity, independence, and a love of learning.
Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage and motivate pupils.
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.

Assessment and Progress Tracking
Assess pupil progress using formative and summative assessment strategies.
Provide clear and constructive feedback to pupils to support their development.
Maintain accurate records of attainment and progress in line with school policy.

Differentiation and Individualised Support
Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND and higher-attaining pupils.
Work closely with teaching assistants to provide targeted interventions where required.
Ensure all pupils are supported and challenged appropriately.

Communication and Collaboration
Build positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed of pupil progress and wellbeing.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and senior leaders.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events, including parents’ evenings.

Professional Development
Keep up to date with developments in primary education and Key Stage 1 practice.
Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and subject knowledge.

The Ideal Candidate

A degree in Education or a relevant subject (Master’s degree desirable).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 or Early Years.
Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum, particularly phonics and early literacy.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
A genuine passion for primary education and creating an engaging, inclusive classroom environment.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
