About the Role
Supply Desk is seeking a passionate and nurturing Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school setting in Hampshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and wants to make a positive difference to their learning, confidence and development. The successful candidate will provide targeted support to pupils across the primary phase, helping children overcome barriers to learning and ensuring they have every opportunity to thrive.
The role would suit an experienced Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant experience supporting children with SEND and/or SEMH needs. You may work with individual pupils, small groups or across different year groups, including Early Years, so flexibility and adaptability are particularly important.
Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of learning needs

Support children with SEND and/or SEMH needs to access learning and participate fully in school life

Work alongside class teachers and the wider school team to support pupil progress

Deliver and support individual learning programmes and interventions

Adapt activities and resources to suit individual children’s needs and abilities

Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning

Support children’s social, emotional and behavioural development

Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment

Contribute to monitoring and recording pupils’ progress

Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, Senior Leaders and other professionals

Liaise with external agencies where appropriate to support children’s needs

Be flexible and prepared to work across both infant and junior settings when required
Candidate Requirements
-
Previous experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting
-
Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs is highly desirable
-
Experience working across different primary year groups, including Early Years, would be advantageous
-
Relevant qualifications or recent and relevant experience

GCSE English and/or Maths at Grade C/4 or above is desirable
